The mission of Wayne Township is to help its citizens in their times of emergencies, when their own personal efforts have not allowed them to meet their basic necessities.

In a proactive approach, the Trustee's office not only provides Township Assistance, but it also assists unemployed or underemployed clients in finding jobs. 

Of course, sometimes clients are not able to work, due to either their own physical condition, or because of their responsibilities to care for others.  These individuals are exempt from this requirement.  (Below is a list of exemptions.)

• Anyone younger than 18

• Anyone 65 years of age or older

• Anyone who has children who are less than 2 years old

• Anyone who is not physically capable to perform work

• Anyone who is needed to care for someone else as a result of his or her physical condition or age.
