Representative Payee Program
In an effort to further serve the citizens of Wayne Township, the Trustee implemented the Payee Program in January 2001.
How it Works
This "free" program ensures that the beneficiary's day-to-day needs for food and shelter are met. Benefits are then used for the beneficiary's personal needs, such as clothing, recreation and other expenses. Benefits can then be used to pay for medical needs and dental care that are not covered by the beneficiary's health insurance, Medicare, Medicaid or supplied by an institution where he or she resides. Or, it may be saved on his or her behalf. Staff is available weekdays during business hours via phone or in person for emergencies and consultations.
The Results
More Financial Stability - The Social Security Administration and beneficiary are updated on expenses paid and the use of benefits received, as well as amount of any benefits saved for the beneficiary. Social Security benefits are directly deposited into a bank account that is owned by this office. The method is safe and secure.
More Housing Stability - By making direct payments to landlords and utility companies in a timely manner, participants are better protected against eviction, homelessness, late fees, utility disconnection and reconnects.
To qualify, participants must be...

At least 18 years old
